Varsity and JV win against Fluvanna

The Albemarle girls celebrated St. Patricks Day in style and sported some green head bands while continuing their winning streak of the season. For the first and last time this year, the team ran

Hanna Guyton and Halle Barredo (not pictured) continue to be the life of the team, showing up every day with positivity and getting some great photos.

Panorama's most challenging course and got to attempt "Cardic", the huge hill at the second mile. Everybody handled it like a pro and earned another group of dominant team scores.


In the varsity girls race there were eight Patriots running and Albemarle swept eight of the top nine spots to score 17 points. Arianna DeBoer ran most of her race by herself and still managed to come in with a 19:16 victory. Jenna Coleman and Cassidy Guyton were

once again right by each other and ran 20:00 and 20:11. Maddie Gypson had a good day placing fourth overall and chasing down a Fluvanna girl the whole race. Olivia St Amand and Bella Sonen ran smart races keying off of each other in 21:29 and 21:40 and Madeline Kronebusch and Lillian Peskova got all of the varsity team under 22:20. Our scoring team's average this race was 20:19, nearly a minute faster than last week.


The JV girls posted a score of 18 points and were lead by two freshman, Eva Weaver and Savannah Meriweather who took the lead right away and both set season's bests to go 1-2. Anya

Rothman and Bella Popovsky ran 23:51 and 24:08. Izzy Hecmanczuk had yet another very strong day and she and Mary Govan finished eighth and ninth overall. Scarlett Morse hung tight to run a lifetime pr of 27:26 and Shelby Owed dropped 19 seconds from last week. Elise Guiffre and Avani Abhyankar showed great sportsmanship again and ran the majority of the race side by side before finishing in 36:04 and 37:57.
