A lot of our AHS team came out to the Kelly Watt race to support the amazing Watt family and get in one last Panorama Farms race! The temperature was near 30 degrees but many girls rocked their new Panorama Farms project singlets and shorts! (We were racing under our club team since this is not a VHSL event)
Coming off of a few hard weeks of training in preparation for Nike Cross Regionals not all of the girls raced the Kelly Watt but still enjoyed some fast times! Arianna DeBoer was the first woman finisher and placed eighth overall running just 28 seconds from her Cup winning time in August. Meme Zarzyski ran 10 seconds faster than her Cup time in 13:05. Savannah Meriwether also ran faster in 13:12. Olivia St Amand clocked a 13:19 and Abby Murphy ran a whole 53 seconds PR from the cup in 13:28! Beth Shifflett ran 13:31 and Cassidy Guyton PR'd in 13:43. Sarah Leach ran a solid 14:25 and seemed to enjoy herself
the whole way!! (see her smiling in the picture -->) Bella Popovsky ran 10 seconds faster than August and ended up running with the Albemarle boys who raced the 3200 time trial yesterday. Anya Rothman had a 50 second PR to break 15 for the first time and Lily Williams ran 15:06. Kendall Scherer and Kristen Hughlett ran together both smiling the whole way as well! Mary Govan, Coach Parks, Coach Lorenzoni, Audrey Melzer, and Coach Thomas also made the trip out for this gorgeous race!
