The Albemarle Girls started off Spring Break with a bang that brought PR's and season's bests all round. Everyone was very excited to test out the new course at Panorama that was set up to give the girls a better shot at fast times.

The varsity girls regroup post race

Jenna Coleman blew everyone away and dropped 53 seconds from last meet and 14 seconds off of her overall PR to run 19:07. This time currently ranks her in the top five of the 5A state classification and makes her the seventh fastest Albemarle runner of all time, as a sophomore! Senior Cassidy Guyton ran with Jenna a lot of the race and continued a super consistent season running 20:02 for second overall. Maddie Gypson ran 26 seconds faster than last week to place 3rd and Olivia St Amand ran a season's best in 20:33. Madeline Kronebusch, after a gutsy race where she went out and led many of the girls

to PR's finished in a season's best of 21:01 and sophomore Bella Sonen ran an all time PR dropping 34 seconds from the last meet. Lillian Peskova rounded out the top seven running within 10 seconds of her PR to set a season's best of 21:43. The varsity girls posted another dominant victory scoring 16 points to Western Albemarle and Lousia's 57 and 64.

In the JV race Savannah Meriwether ran a huge race to lead the Patriots in 22:55. Savannah has worked really hard all season to dial in her nutrition and sleep and it is really paying off because every race she has dropped considerable time.

Fellow freshman Eva Weaver placed 17th overall between the varisty and JV girls to run 24:11. Izzy Hecmanczuk ran another strong second half which she has done all season to run 26:36. Mary Govan ran a season's best in 26:36 which is within 15 seconds of her PR and Shelby Owed ran 29:23. Avani Abhyankar finished out the team's finishes with a 36:01 which is a 1:19 season's best.
